In cases where the applicant can’t sign , the Left hand thumb impressions the applicant at the space meant for signature  must be taken on PAN application form. The same must be attested by a Gazetted Officer or a Notary Public or a Magistrate, under official seal and stamp.

Yes. Father’s name on the PAN application form is mandatorily required to be mentioned in case of individual applicants including the female applicants (irrespective of their marital status).

Yes . In cases where the individual applicant has his/her mother as a single parent needs to mandatorily tick the box for printing mother’s name on the PAN card. Thus, in such a case, father’s name need not be mentioned in the application form.

  1. You will receive a unique 15-digit acknowledgment number on submission of the PAN application form. You can check the status of your PAN application by accessing NSDL-TIN website’s “Status track” option. All you have to do is quote your unique 15-digit acknowledgement number after three days of your application.
  2. You can also receive status of your application through SMS . For this, you have to type the word “NSDLPAN” followed by your 15-digit acknowledgement number and send it to 57575
  3. You can also check the status of your PAN application through Interactive Voice Response (IVR) by calling on 020-27218080.
